Monsanto and its allies BASF, Bayer, Dow and Syngenta, have launched a PR offensive in Europe. They claim that Europe will run out of animal feed unless the EU weakens regulations and allows GM soya and maize containing stacked resistance to multiple herbicides to enter the food chain without any safety assessments. They claim that GM crops are needed to 'feed the world' and tackle climate change. If they win, GM companies will receive massive subsidies from European taxpayers while millions of farmers are locked into a cycle of poverty, forced to rely on expensive patented seeds and chemicals. We need your help to end the biotech industry's grip on EU policy. It's our food and our money: whose decision should it be?
